Music Ministry
The Lutheran tradition of Christianity is deeply rooted in music, and Peace Lutheran Church takes great pride in its rich history of music ministry, which has been actively praising God through song and bells for many years.
Life Groups
Relationships are the focus here at Peace Lutheran Church. In our life groups, people from many walks of life can gather to study the Bible, pray for one another, and discuss spiritual topics.
Volunteer Groups
At Peace Lutheran Church, our volunteer groups are the lifeline of service, extending care from our church to the wider community and region. With hearts devoted to love and hands ready to serve, these groups address diverse needs, from aiding the vulnerable in our neighborhood to responding to regional crises. United in purpose and driven by compassion, they embody our commitment to being the hands and feet of Christ in the world.
Food Ministry
Elsie's Pantry is Peace Lutheran Church's food ministry. Every year, during its monthly food distribution days, the pantry feeds more than 600 people from throughout Southern Maryland. Additionally, the food ministry serves our neighbors at LifeStyles of Maryland, Angel's Watch Shelter, Our Place Waldorf, and other locations.
Quilting Ministry
Quilts and chemo hats made by the quilting ministry of Peace Lutheran Church are well-known in Southern Maryland for the comfort and prayers they bring. We send quilts all over the globe via Lutheran World Relief, and chemo caps are delivered to infusion centers in the Charles, St. Mary's, and Calvert counties. Volunteers are always welcome no matter their sewing skills.
Pastoral Support
At Peace Lutheran Church, Pastoral Care is the heartbeat of our community. It's not just about offering support during difficult times, but about fostering a culture of compassion, empathy, and genuine connection. Through attentive listening, prayerful guidance, and unwavering support, we ensure that every member feels valued, understood, and upheld in their faith journey. In moments of joy or sorrow, Pastoral Care is the steady hand that reminds us of God's love and presence in our lives.
